These clients wanted a unique feature in their already finished basement. They wanted to utilized a storage space to make a speakeasy for wine and bourbon storage. We wanted to create a unique and authentic speakeasy atmosphere that embraced the 1920s. To accomplish this, we incorporated elements like exposed brick walls, dim lighting, and muted tones. Low, warm lighting and a black tin roof were used to create a cozy and intimate atmosphere. Custom backlit shelving made from reclaimed wood is the focal point of the room but also provides the homeowner a place to store his impressive bourbon collection. A custom wine crate wall fits well with the decor but also hides the television when it isn't being used. Wine is stored in a temperature and humidity controlled area with black framed glass doors. The comfortable leather furniture invites guests to take a seat and enjoy the details within the hidden space.
